As a lifelong lover of architecture and decorative arts, I was inspired to explore interior design after becoming fascinated with how lighting, materiality and architectural details come together to create immersive environments.

The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, meaningful environment, not about fashion or what’s in or what’s out.

Hi there, thanks so much for stopping by! If it’s our first time becoming acquainted, my name is Cherish-Joie, and it’s lovely to meet you.

To get some of the formalities out of the way: I‘m a recent graduate from the CIDA Accredited Interior Architecture & Design program at George Washington University. I’ve been privileged to study abroad in Portugal through GW’s IA program, and I work daily to tell compelling stories through my work as I explore how the world can become more equitable, accessible and vibrant through empathetic, curiosity-led design thinking.

Prior to attending GWU, I completed my undergraduate coursework at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL where I studied biology and music before receiving my Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance & Pedagogy in 2017.

I’ve been happily married for seven years to my college sweetheart Kyle and have been classically trained as a coloratura soprano! I also consider myself a multidisciplinary artist and explore my Caribbean heritage through mixed media sculpture, collage, jewelry-making and travel photography. Looking forward to connecting more soon!
