Mecca: The Estate at Dumbarton Oaks
Live/Work | Capstone Project | Individual | Spring 2023
MECCA seeks to redefine creative collaboration through innovative live-work spaces. True to its name, it becomes the nexus of artistic creation by bringing interdisciplinary artists together through contractual residencies, giving space and place for a full embrace of collaborative, collective work.
fallsmeade grove
At Fallsmeade Grove, we worked with our clients to transform the existing formal living space and the sunroom addition to create the ultimate conversation area. Curated to optimize garden views and support entertainment, this space is infused with light and multiple seating options to ensure that connection is at the heart of each gathering.
brier glen
At our Brier Glen project, our clients found themselves looking for a clean, contemporary refresh across their main floor and primary bedroom. Inspired by the cool, California coast this family of four communicated their functional needs and aesthetic preferences before handing over the project to us for an infusion of warm, contemporary sophistication.
maynard way
At Maynard Way, our clients wanted their forever home to feel warm, bright and inviting. Taking cues from the existing architecture, the selections for this project are a blend of traditional and rustic details to ensure a comfortable and curated feel. Warm, muted tones and performance materials ensured that guests could truly relax into the space while chiaroscuro & reflectivity across accessories ensured that the design maintained a light, airy feel.
orchard street
At Orchard Street, our clients wanted their home to feel warm, bright, and inviting. Taking inspiration from their spirited family life, the design we developed was vibrant and full of color and pattern.
As an active family with young children, we also took care to ensure that the primary furnishings were made from performance grade materials and had round or beveled edges to facilitate ease of use and longevity over time in this high traffic area. To complete the look, we used greenery to add a much needed organic element to bring this design home for our clients.
bernadin circle
At Bernadin Circle, our client wanted to ensure a clean, cohesive aesthetic across the finishes for their rental property in Dallas, TX. Following some much needed repairs, the existing palette felt uninspired and failed to communicate a cohesive narrative which left potential tenants feeling unsure of whether to move forward.
To maximize interest and functionality for a wider pool of occupants, we worked to create a neutral and timeless backdrop to ensure that our client could maximize the ROI for this wonderful property.
